The centenary celebrations are part of ScienceYear22, a theme initiated by the Niels Bohr Institute.
ScienceYear22 is an independent project with its own finances and platforms. It takes place in conjunction with the UN's appointment of 2022 as the "International Year of Basic Sciences for Development".
ScienceYear22 is based on Niels Bohr’s vision for physics, science, global cooperation and peaceful coexistence. It celebrates the inquisitiveness and creative thinking in keeping with the spirit of Bohr.
ScienceYear22 will reach a wide audience with the main objective being to increase focus on the significance of science, so that Danes of all ages will be well informed and better able to understand the world around us.
