N2 - “Dressing the New World” aims to understand in detail the trade mechanism of European products and fashion overseas. It will evaluate the impact of European commodities and fashionable goods in everyday life in the colonial system. In particular it will study textiles and fashionable items in the Spanish New World, governed by the Spanish from Mexico City since the conquest of the Aztec Empire in 1521.
