N2 - International biennials of contemporary art grow in importance in globalization and one result is the spread of 'hegemonic archive of contemporary art'. Focusing on WHW, the Croatian curatorial collective behind the 11th Istanbul Biennial in 2009 and analyzing their exhibition concept reactualizing Brechtian educational and elucidating strategies the article argues for a case of differencing canons by inserting socialist counter-canons into the hegemonic archive of global biennial art.
