Inge Lehmann

Inge Lehmann (1888-1993) is Denmark’s unknown pioneer in the field of geophysics. In 1936, she writes the article P’, in which she argues that the Earth has a solid inner core.

This idea creates great debate in scientific circles, but it soon becomes clear that she is right. Nevertheless, many years pass before she gets her well-deserved recognition.
