Title: Predicting High Energy Neutrino Fluxes from Relic Neutrino Scattering with Cosmic Rays

Abstract:

Ultra-high energy (UHE) cosmic rays (CRs) scatter with relic neutrinos during their long propagation towards Earth. This process is a potential source of high- energy neutrinos. In this project, we will investigate this flux of scattered relic neutrinos. We will start with a review of the physics in the early Universe that give rise to the cosmic neutrino background (CnuB). We will then identify the relevant processes of neutrino-UHECR scattering that contribute to the diffuse flux of high-energy neutrinos. Finally, we will compare our predictions to the sensitivities of present and future high-energy neutrino observatories.
