Title: A Study of Top Effective Field Theory at a Future e+e- Collider

The Future Circular Collider (FCC) is a proposed particle accelerator at CERN capable of unprecedented precision. In this thesis, a simulated environment of the FCC and one of its proposed detectors, the IDEA detector, is used to study fully hadronic top decays within the framework of Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). SMEFT is a convenient way to look for physics beyond the Standard Model without the full machinery of a brand new theory.

In this search for new physics, an event selection is performed to target the search for fully hadronic top quark pairs and a kinematic fit is applied in order to reconstruct the pair of top quarks. The 1σ confidence intervals of seven anomalous couplings within top effective field theory are determined separately based on angular distributions and total cross section.
