Interdisciplinary research of physical properties of biological systems at levels ranging from single molecules to the whole cell, where I have an expertise at the interface between physics, biology and medicine.
I investigate the interactions between nanoparticles, light and living matter using optical tweezers and fluorescence imaging. The research is mainly based on cancer cells, membrane repair and drug delivery.
Current research is based on cell membrane repair proteins in collaboration with the Danish Cancer Society Research Center. The aim is to further the understanding of the cell repair machinery and to develop therapeutics for degenerative diseases as muscular dystrophy and cancer.
