Title: Finding String Theory in the Landscape of Effective Field Theories
Abstract: The S-matrix Bootstrap for Effective Field Theory (EFT) uses dispersion relations to place two-sided bounds on the couplings (Wilson coefficients) of the higher derivative operators. In the talk, we explore -- in the context of maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory - how quite minimal input about the low-mass spectrum places significant constraints on the Wilson coefficients. We show how this allows us to corner the 4-point open string tree amplitude in the space of EFTs.
