Title: Towards a non-singular paradigm for black hole physics
Abstract: Black holes contain, deep in their interior, theoretical evidence of the failure of general relativity. Physically realistic initial conditions unavoidably produce a singular black hole spacetime. It is generally expected that a full theory of quantum gravity should remove the singularities and lead to a well-defined description of black hole interiors.
In recent years, the study of regular black holes and black hole mimickers—as potential alternatives to classical black holes—has attracted growing interest. Despite substantial progress, key challenges remain in identifying and characterizing physically well-motivated models within these frameworks. In this talk, I will review these challenges and discuss some of the most promising directions for future research.
