Title: Ice flow and isotopes at RECAP
Abstract:
The new RECAP ice core is special in many ways. Being drilled down into a
valley beneath the ice sheet, it turns out that the traditional kink-model
cannot account for the observed thinning of annual layers during the Holocene.
Interestingly an equally simple model, but different model seems to do a much
better job. The isotope record is also very interesting with the DO-events
during the Glacial being of smaller amplitude than observed on the Greenland
ice sheet, except for deuterium excess that seems surprisingly similar.
