Title: On the contribution from WG1 to the IPCC AR6

Abstract: On the 9th of August, 2021 the IPCC released its first volume to its sixths assessment report series (AR6) entitled “Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis”. As a point of departure from my past engagement with IPCC reports as a Coordinating Lead Author and as a Review Editor on one of the new elements in this report, a normal chapter in the form of an Atlas and its new feature an interactive online version of this Atlas, I will like to present the findings of the current report. This will address questions such as: What has changed between 2021 and the previous reports that allows the IPCC to give even more bold statements about the ongoing man-made climate change? Which scientific evidence has come forward and how does the final approval session between government officials and the authors of the chapters work out?
