A Nobel Laureate’s Journey Into Our Galaxy’s Black Hole

Experimental Evidence for the Existence of Black Holes and their Cosmic Evolution

The Center of Gravity’s (CoG) new colloquium series brings leading international thinkers to Copenhagen to explore gravity, black holes, and the workings of the cosmos.

Our next guest is Professor Reinhard Genzel, Nobel Laureate in Physics. His groundbreaking work allowed us to peer deep into our own Galaxy, the Milky Way, past the dust and obscuration that once hid its center from view. There he uncovered a massive black hole, perhaps the strongest evidence yet that these cosmic monsters truly exist and sink into the hearts of galaxies.

Prof. Reinhard Genzel’s research continues to teach us how stars are born and how galaxies assemble and evolve. His insights offer a rare and compelling glimpse into the machinery of the universe.

The event is open to the public and ideal for anyone curious about astronomy, physics, or the mysteries of our Galaxy.

Reception: 17:00-18:00 with snacks and drinks
