Abstract: I will discuss the recent paper 1709.01790 by Luest and Palti -- "Scalar Fields, Hierarchical UV/IR Mixing and The Weak Gravity Conjecture". In particular, I will contextualize it in the context of the swampland conjecture and it's relevance to cosmology.
