Title: Local Anomaly Cancellation in Flavoursome Z' Models
Abstract: We consider local anomaly cancellation from u(1) extensions to the Standard Model Lie algebra, allowing for family dependent charges. We find an analytic solution for the charges of Standard Model chiral fermions. If one spontaneously breaks the U(1) in question, a Z' with family dependent couplings results. Recent flavour data may indicate such a contribution in the (bbar s) (mubar mu) effective coupling. We shall review the flavour data and construct a simple anomaly-free model that explains them, along with some gross features of the fermion mass spectrum.
