Title: Hydrodynamics, “parity” anomaly and deconfined critical point
Abstract: It is well known that anomalies can have strong effect on the transport (resulting in phenomena such as chiral magnetic effect etc). The anomalies responsible to these effects are, however, those that only involved continuous global symmetries, exist in even spacetime dimensions and detectable by perturbative method. I will talk about two hydrodynamic effect due anomalies that exist in 2+1 dimensions, involved discrete symmetries and cannot be detected by the “triangle diagram”. These are the well-known parity anomaly as well as those that play roles in a deconfined quantum critical point and 2+1d dualities web.
