Title: Entropy Production in Continuously Measured Quantum Systems

Abstract: The entropy production is a fundamental quantity characterizing the irreversibility of thermodynamical processes for both classical and quantum systems. In this talk, by using a powerful phase-space based approach, we investigate the impact of continuously measuring a quantum Gaussian system on its entropy production. This allows us to formulate a sharpened second law of thermodynamics that accounts for the measurement back-action and information gain.
