Hybrid protocols for quantum communication and sensing

Hybrid refers to the combination of two different elements. This does not necessarily have to be a good thing (e.g. the combination of drinking and driving is not good) but sometimes it brings forward new opportunities. In this talk, I will discuss both recent and on-going work on a number of hybrid protocols for quantum technology. This includes the combination of large scale quantum simulators with single qubit quantum memories for better measurements as well as qubit combined with qudit entanglement to relax memory requirements in quantum communication architectures.
