Selected topics in waveguide QED

Waveguide QED is a fantastic playground to explore light-matter physics. In this talk I'll give a little overview over my past and ongoing research in this field. I'll explain two proposals we wrote, one to devise a QND photon counter (arXiv:1906.12296), and one in which we explore using subwavelength atomic arrays as waveguides (arXiv:2107.10813). Then I'll turn to more fundamental effects and present our results on the thermodynamic limit of superradiance with and without retardation (arXiv:2202.05197 and unpublished work).
