Dispersive gate sensing in hybrid quantum dot systems

The talk will focus on the implementation of radio frequency (RF) reflectometry for dispersive gate sensing in hybrid quantum dot systems. These hybrid systems, constructed using semiconductor nanowires with superconducting shells, involve metal etching and barrier gates depositing to create semiconductor quantum dots and superconducting islands in series. The combination of RF technique with the hybrid system is expected to pave the way for future topological qubit readouts and is currently being used to characterize electronic properties through quantum capacitance. The talk will explain the mechanism behind the dispersive readout of quantum capacitance, present methods for obtaining functional devices with off-chip resonators, and provide examples of how those fast measurements contribute to the understanding of the hybrid system.
