Silicon Photonics for Quantum Networks and Fully Integrated Entanglement Distribution

Quantum networks have potential applications in quantum secured communication channels, distributed quantum information processing and quantum computing and distributed quantum enhanced sensing. Entangled photons provide the physical basis of long-distance quantum networks. In this talk I shall present some of our recent advances in silicon photonic devices for future quantum networks. I shall describe the realization of high brightness quantum light sources based on dispersion engineered silicon microresonators, the design and implementation of high-performance spectral filters based on fabrication-tolerant high-order coupled resonator optical waveguide (CROW) filter and a proof-of-concept demonstration in the use of silicon photonics for energy-time entanglement distribution over 160km optical fiber without dispersion compensation.
