Solving pedigrees by DNA genotyping: Can I still get away with murder?

You may have heard of long unsolved crimes being solved with DNA evidence.  A very powerful approach has combined DNA genotyping with linkage analysis to identify relatives to the person who left DNA at a crime scene.  I will describe DNA genotyping and how, when combined with tools from classical genetics relatives of the suspect have been identified.
