Nonreciprocal phase separation

Nonreciprocal interactions arise generically in living and active matter and dictate the non-equilibrium physics of such systems.
I will begin with a short introduction on nonreciprocal interactions.
I will then show how nonreciprocity leads to topologically charged spirals and neutral targets in the nonreciprocal Cahn-Hilliard model.
These defects exhibit novel pairwise interactions that drives topological selectivity and a disorder-to-order transition.
Finally, I will highlight our results on multi-species mixtures and momentum-conserving systems where nonreciprocity acts as a stabilizing mechanism against linear instabilities.
