Title: The Classical Double Copy and the Newman-Penrose Map

Abstract: The double copy is a promising method of relating complicated gravitational amplitudes to products of simpler gauge theory amplitudes. It has been proven at tree level and is expected to be true to all orders, though a general proof remains elusive. Recently, progress has been made in formulating a classical version of the double copy, mapping exact solutions in gravity to exact solutions in gauge theory. I will overview some of the different formulations of the classical double copy, including my work on the "Newman-Penrose map", how they overlap and recent developments.
