Title: Scattering amplitudes and algebraic geometry – Elliptics and beyond
Abstract: Recent years have witnessed a large amount of interaction between physicists interested in scattering amplitudes and mathematicians interested in algebraic geometry and related areas. In particular, it was realized that Feynman integrals can be interpreted as periods. This has brought fundamental mathematical tools to bear on the study of scattering amplitudes, and sparked dramatic advances both in terms of conceptual understanding as well as computational efficiency. In this talk, I will briefly review some highlights of this interaction, focusing on the elliptic case, which has received a lot of interest in recent years. If time permits, I will also sketch some of the landscape that lies beyond elliptics.Scattering amplitudes and algebraic geometry – Elliptics and beyond
