Title: What is Dark Matter?

Speaker: James Cline (McGill University)

Abstract: In the first part of the talk I will review the history of the discovery of dark matter, and the reasons we are sure it exists, using intuitive explanations.  In the second part I will discuss various proposals for what dark matter might be, and the kinds of experiments that are searching for it.
