January 2023 visitors

The Strong Group had 4 visitors in January 2023.

Prof. Thomas Baumgarte, Bowdoin College visited the Strong Group from January 8-15, 2023 and also gave a Gravity Seminar talk. Prof. Baumgarte is working with Prof. Cardoso on the supervision of Jorge Exposito’s thesis on critical collapse.

PhD Student Mesut Çaliskan, Johns Hopkins University visited in connection with the STSM (Short Term Scientific Mission) program from January 9-30, 2023. He worked with Jose Maria Ezquiaga on exploring the potential of lensing of gravitational waves.

PhD Student Francisco Duque, Instituto Superior Tecnico, Lisbon visited Vitor Cardoso from January 18 to February 2, 2023. He worked with Vitor, David and Rodrigo Vicente on dark matter structures and dynamical processes leading to gravitational-wave emission.

Postdoc Rodrigo Vicente, Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE), Barcelona visited Vitor Cardoso from January 18 to February 2, 2023. He worked with Vitor on gravitational wave emission in nontrivial environments.
