Strong hosted Ringdown Inside and Out
This summer the Strong group hosted the Ringdown Inside and Out meeting. The event took place in Copenhagen from August 22-24, 2024, inside the glass conference room of the Danish Architecture Center (DAC), directly facing the splendid Black Diamond building.
The meeting gathered some of the world experts in numerical relativity, black hole perturbation theory and data analysis. Exciting discussions among community experts actively pushing the field state of the art touched on the current status, prospects ahead and unresolved fundamental questions. It is a remarkably vibrant and young community, witnessing impressive PhD students' active participation, something that left everyone with great hopes for the future of the field. Space and logistic constraints imposed limits on this invitation-only meeting, with over 80 registered participants joining us at the DAC venue. We enjoyed a full two and half days’ program filled with exciting scientific interactions, delicious Danish food and two throwable microphones!
You can find the speakers’ slides and the scientific/historical overview here: Ringdown Inside and Out program.
This event was part of the #blackholeweek and preceded the Black Hole Inside and Out event which took place the week after.
